An impromptu visit to Allestree Park so the boys could burn off some energy (and so Daddy didn’t throttle them as they knocked his new garden wall out of line…again).
Walking around the lake we find some painted rocks, which turns out to be a new craze. Derbyshire Rocks calls people to paint and hide rocks with the message ‘keep or rehide’ on the back.
We found three for three boys and they’re intent on keeping them, so we’re going to make our own rocks to hide this week.
Aside from hunting rocks, the boys paddled and pond dipped. They ate grapes with their feet submerged in the water. They threw a ball for a dog that didn’t seem to belong to anyone. But mostly they hunted for more rocks.
We come home to a much calmer Daddy who orders pizza for dinner. And life is good.
